Licensed Vocational Nurse Job Description Qualifications 1. Current license to practice Vocational Nursing in the State of Texas. 2. Current BLS certificate and ACLS/PALS certificate if applicable. 3. Documented evidence of a minimum of 12 months experience in the area for which you are applying. 4. Proof of fulfillment of health screening criteria required by the State of Texas and Staff Quest, Inc.. 5. Successful completion of screening evaluations required for clinical areas in which you will practice with a score of 80% or greater. 6. Successful completion of the independent studies covering current OSHA/JCAHO requirements with a score of 80% or greater. 7. Successful completion of the medication examination with a score of 80% or greater. 8. Each nurse will be tested for controlled substances prior to being assigned to a facility and must have been found to be free of controlled substances. Responsibilities and Functions1. Is supervised by the Staff Quest, Inc. Clinical Coordinator.
2. Provides direct patient care demonstrating skills matching patient needs. 3. Supports the nursing process through contributions to the planning of care and the documented provision of services to the patient. 4. Promotes optimum patient wellness by assisting the patient to adapt to their illness or wellness state. 5. Participates in decision-making based on the assessment of the patient’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and safety needs. 6. Contributes information pertinent to the development and revision of the patient care plan. 7. Plans/provides care based on daily assessment of the patient and physician’s orders. 8. Reports significant findings and changes in patient status to appropriate personnel. 9. Consults directly with the RN in communicating the patient’s response to interventions and outcomes of care. 10. Administer and document medications and narcotics in a way consistent with the policies and procedures of each individual facility. 11. Maintains clinical records in according to facility policies and regulations. 12. Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education. 13. Adheres to Staff Quest, Inc. policies and procedures. 14. Adheres to medical facility’s policies and procedures. 1. Requires full range of body motion including lifting and repositioning adult patients, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity. 2. Frequent standing and walking for extended periods of time. 3. Ability to push/pull more than 50lbs. and to lift objects greater than 20lbs. |
